Story Shape Inc
Storytime Just Got a Mission
Web Inventix built the complete web presence for Story Shape Inc., a veteran-owned children's publishing brand that turns NCO leadership principles into personalized storybooks, sold across 45+ countries.

The Mind Behind the Story
Timothy E. Kennedy is a service-disabled Army Staff Sergeant. He spent years in the NCO Academy teaching soldiers what it means to lead. And somewhere in there, he realized the same principles (accountability, resilience, moral clarity) were exactly what his kids needed at bedtime.
So he built Story Shape Inc. out of Lawton, Oklahoma. A D2C brand that sells personalized children's storybooks and coloring books, each one woven around his 10 Principles of Life. Not fluff. Not filler. Character development disguised as storytime.

Four Challenges That Shaped Everything
This wasn't a "make it look nice" project. Story Shape had a genuinely compelling story, a differentiated product, and a founder whose credibility was real. The challenge was making the website feel as serious as the mission behind it.
Translating Military Credibility Into Consumer Trust
Timothy's background is the whole point. "From the NCO Academy to the family home" isn't a tagline someone workshopped. It's literally what happened. But military authority doesn't automatically translate online. Parents browsing personalized books aren't thinking in doctrine. We had to carry the founder's story across without making it feel like a recruitment poster. The credibility had to feel warm.
Giving the Chatbot a Role It Deserved
Story Shape has a parenting chatbot. That's actually a meaningful differentiator in a market full of static product pages. But it was getting mentioned in passing, like a footnote. We treated it as a second product. It needed its own positioning, its own moment on the page, something that made visitors stop and think "wait, they have that?"
Making Personalization Feel Personal, Not Just Functional
Every children's book brand says their books are personalized. The word has basically lost meaning. Story Shape's version is different because it's built around values, not just a name printed on the cover. The website had to show that distinction fast, before the visitor clicked away assuming it was the same as everything else they'd already seen.
Turning Stats Into Something People Actually Believe
500+ stories published. 100+ happy families. 500+ five-star reviews. Those numbers were on the site but they weren't doing any work. Unlabeled stat blocks don't build trust. They create questions. We restructured the social proof section so each number was anchored to a specific claim, and we made space for real quoted reviews rather than just counts.

What the Site Delivered
45+Countries Reached
Story Shape was already selling internationally before the new site launched. The redesigned experience had to reflect that reach, not look like a local craft shop with global ambitions.
3Products, 1 Clear Story
Storybooks, coloring books, and a parenting chatbot. Three distinct offerings that could easily confuse a first-time visitor. The information architecture we built let each product breathe without pulling attention away from the others.
10Principles, Front and Center
The 10 Principles of Life aren't just brand philosophy. They're the reason people come back. We gave them structural weight on the page, not a paragraph buried in the About section.
OneFounder Identity, Zero Confusion
Timothy Kennedy and "Haunday" are the same person. The old site introduced them separately enough that visitors didn't always connect the dots. We resolved that without making it feel like a correction. Just clean, clear storytelling.
The Stack Behind Every Personalized Story
Story Shape runs on a carefully chosen stack built for speed, global reach, and zero maintenance headaches. Every tool earns its place, keeping the experience smooth for parents from Oklahoma to Germany.

JetpackBuilding Story Shape the Right Way
Every decision in this process was made to create a website that feels clear, trustworthy and effortless to use. From understanding the brand to post launch support, each step focused on helping parents confidently choose Story Shape.
Getting Into the Brand
We read every word, studied the 10 Principles and got to the core of what Timothy was building. This isn't a generic children's book company. Understanding that distinction came before everything else.
Messaging Architecture
Before any design work, we sorted out the hierarchy of what the site needed to say and in what order. The founder story, the product range, the chatbot, the principles, the international credibility. All of it needed a sequence that felt natural rather than like a list of features thrown at the wall.
Design
The look had to walk a line between military precision and the warmth parents expect from a children's brand. That tension is actually what makes Story Shape interesting, so we leaned into it rather than softening it away. Clean, purposeful, with room for emotion.
Development
The full site was built mobile-first. Parents browsing for their kids aren't at a desk. The book customization flow, the chatbot section, the product pages. Everything was tested on mobile before we touched desktop.
Trust Signal Integration
We restructured the review and stat sections, added context to the "Eco Friendly" and "Community-Driven" claims, and made sure the veteran-owned badge was positioned where it actually influenced decision-making rather than hiding in the footer.
QA, Launch, and Post-Launch Support
Every page was tested across devices and browsers before anything went live. After launch, we stayed close, monitoring performance, handling small fixes, and making sure Timothy could focus on running his business rather than his website.

A Better Website Is One Call Away
